Faiza Mathon-Mathieu was appointed Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Legal and Legislative Affairs and to the Senior Executive service in January 2023. Ms. Mathon-Mathieu is part of the management team responsible for leading and overseeing the legislative, congressional, legal, and administrative sanctions functions in the Office of Legal and Legislative Affairs (OLLA) at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
Prior to her appointment, Ms. Mathon-Mathieu served as the Chief of the Policy, Legislative and External Affairs Division and Senior Counsel in OLLA. Ms. Mathon-Mathieu began her Federal career in 2017, working at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General as Legislative Counsel. Before joining the Federal Government, Ms. Mathon-Mathieu worked in the non-profit sector to advocate for policies that protect children’s rights and prevent child trafficking.
Ms. Mathon-Mathieu earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology & Society from Cornell University and her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown Law.
