The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office within the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) dedicated to promoting accountability and transparency, both within and outside the agency. Through audits, investigations, and evaluations, the OIG provides objective oversight of OPM’s programs and services and offers recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of agency operations. In doing so, the OIG helps strengthen OPM’s performance and continuously improve its internal processes.
