Response to COVID-19

Covid-19 Reporting

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has been actively engaged in tracking COVID-19 trends and risk areas that impact the OPM-administered Federal health care related programs.

Since the onset of the pandemic, we have been following three areas closely: the trends and emerging risks associated with COVID-19 testing, the trends related to the avoidance or delay of medical care, and the impact of COVID-19 on the ongoing opioid epidemic.

The OPM OIG is also a member of the Healthcare Subgroup of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC) within the Counsel of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency.

The PRAC Healthcare Subgroup is comprised of OIGs that oversee agencies providing or affected by the provision of Federal health care-related programs.

As a member of the PRAC Healthcare Subgroup our office coordinates and shares insights with other OIGs, specifically regarding COVID-19 trends.
